Wild and Whimsical

I’ve been on a hiatus, and the only (and best) reason I can give is, I was busy with my own wedding, amongst other things. But that is no excuse, because inspiration never ends. Or in my case, go on a long radio silence.

Let this day be my comeback. Today is the day I finally feature my own wedding. That wedding I had imagined for years ( yes, 2 years engagement! ), that turned out be be exactly how i imagined it to be.

Here’s our special day, hope it makes your day as special!

A little token of love for my maids of honor and bridesmaids. Stacked rings, which also was the perfect accessory for the day.

A year before the wedding, I proposed to my maids too. These were the tote bags I gave them.

On a happy day like this one, there’s nothing I would love more than to walk down the aisle with the memories ( and the photos ) of those closest to my heart who cannot be there on that day.

One of the perks of having a graphic designer for a groom, DIY wedding invitations. And we wanted it to be as whimsical and as homey as it can be, like how we want our big day to be.

As you can tell, Im all about the details. Decided to hang our postcards and photos from some of our travels, and made a somewhat bohemian bunting to be hung outside my bridal suite.

These girls stole the show with their floral printed gowns. I wanted everyone to stand out, even my maids and the groomsmen, so no one looked the same as the other.

Speaking of stand outs, check out that tuxedo dress of our groom’s maid.

I always knew I won’t be riding a luxury car on my wedding day. We opted for the beetle and the kombi for a fun and rustic feel.

The excruciating yet highly-fulfilling process of having DIY champagne corks as place cards. And that cutlery bound by brown paper and flower is pure love.

Our cake showcased our interests. Travel, cocktails, gadgets, Instagram and just about anything. We also placed brown paper bags next to the cupcakes so guests can take them home.

Choosing bold rainbow colors as our color scheme was a risky move that paid off. It gave that lively and just-about-anything-goes vibe that we are aiming for.

Everything else came easy. Well, not everything.

Some would call me a bridezilla. And i won’t disagree. I loved every bit of the planning and the execution. When you have suppliers you trust, everything else comes easy.

And when you have Bacolod as your setting, everything just looks beautiful.
